Bernard Mc Namara After graduating in Architecture from Laval University in Quebec City in 1978, Mr. McNamara evolved mainly as independent entrepreneur. The next fifteen years, his growing expertise allowed him to manage successfully diverse professional contracts in the educational, institutional, industrial, commercial and residential fields. Since 1980 Mr. McNamara has been a very active member of the Order of Architects of Quebec (OAQ), occupying different positions such as President of the Order (1991-1992), President of the Professional Responsibility Insurance Fund (1995-1999), and still today acting as a Member of the Bureau (board) of the OAQ. In the early 90’s, Mr. McNamara began taking a particular interest in low-cost housing further to his participation in trade missions abroad. As a personal and also professional challenge, he decided to design different building systems of low cost and easy to build for developing countries. In 1995 he founded Digigraph Systems to commercialize his new construction techniques and worked in collaboration with the Centre de recherche industrielle du Québec (CRIQ) and the National Research Council Canada (NRC) to test his first building system. Mr. McNamara holds the worldwide marketing rights for all patents and licenses of the construction systems he invented. Timeline 2010 A new partner joined our family. Silverfountain Lda. signed a manufacturing license agreement to fabricate and commercialize our DC BUILDING SYSTEM in Brazil, Portugal and Angola. 2007 DC INTERNATIONAL’s Industrial Department adapted one of its technologies for the realization of reinforced concrete tanks. This permanent forming system allows the construction of tanks of any size and walls thickness. 2005 Signing of a manufacturing license agreement with Intempo Sistemas Constructivos, a Mexican company, to fabricate and commercialise the DC BUILDING SYSTEM in Mexico. Commercial application of the DC FORM system in the construction of a demonstration house in Banda Aceh, Indonesia, one of the areas devastated by the tsunami of December 26, 2004. Design and development of the self-construction anti-hurricane and storage buildings DC SHLETER (patented). 2004 The Digigraph Building System is also known under the name of DC BUILDING SYSTEM (patented). Design and development of the DC FORM System (patents pending), which utilizes injected plastic reusable formwork to build concrete slabs and walls fast and accurately. 2003 Implementation of a training program with the financial collaboration of the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) on the use of the DC BUILDING SYSTEM for the workers who took part in the realization of the OGBA Housing Project in Benin, Nigeria. Bernard McNamara restructured his activities and founded DC International in order to offer a wider range of world-class state-of-the-art products, construction techniques, and professional services. Through the following years, the company established and reinforced its presence on the international scene by participating in numerous trade shows and commercial missions, signing distribution agreements in twenty-three countries and realizing a large variety of projects around the world.
